An Iowa city was ranked in the top five for having one of the best St. Patrick's Day celebrations in the country, a personal finance website found.
WalletHub named Cedar Rapids as the fourth-best city for St. Patrick's Day celebrations. WalletHub’s analysts compared 200 of the most populated U.S. cities across four key dimensions:
- St. Patrick’s Day traditions;
- safety and accessibility;
- holiday weather.
The experts then evaluated those dimensions across 16 relevant metrics to determine each cities overall score.
Cedar Rapids recorded a score of 64.02 points, topping the list with the best safety and accessibility ranking. WalletHub also said that Cedar Rapids has the fewest DUI-related fatalities per capita and ranks third for having the highest percentage of Irish living there.
Buffalo, N.Y., captured the top spot on the list, followed by Madison, Wis., in second (65.72) and Boston in third (65.02). Worchester, Pa., rounded out the top five at 62.92.
The other Iowa city that made the list was Des Moines, coming in at 75th (49.42). Des Moines is one of the cities with the most DUI-related fatalities per capita, WalletHub found.
