"Hamilton: An American Musical" is coming to Des Moines, but you already knew that since the excitement has brewed and overwhelmed your life since April 2016.

That elation has picked right back up after the Register revealed exclusive details on Monday. But...

You're going to have to keep waiting until 2018.

It'll be difficult for many continuing to contain their emotions until June 27-July 15, 2018, as Monday's long-awaited announcement made certain of that. But Iowans are so beside themselves about "Hamilton" coming to town, that these four stages might describe how you will/should feel until next summer.

1. Anticipation

Like Lin-Manuel Miranda, who portrays Alexander Hamilton in the rap, hip-hop and jazz-influenced historical musical, says during a scene, Iowans are "past patiently waitin’. I’m passionately smashin’ every expectation."

Even though the show isn't until next year, at least more information about it has been released. Plus, Des Moines Performing Arts organizers said that landing "Hamilton" is a big economic win for the city.

For those reasons mentioned, and for other expectations set to be smashed: Break out your best happy dance, y'all.

2. Anxiety

Season-ticket packages for the 2017-18 Willis Broadway Series at the Des Moines Civic Center are on sale and start at $215. Along with "Hamilton," you can enjoy other popular plays like "Something Rotten!" "The Color Purple" and "Waitress," among others.

But if you're wanting to watch just "Hamilton," single-show ticket prices have yet to be unveiled. And organizers say that the only way to guarantee a ticket to see “Hamilton” is to buy season tickets.

That might sound bad for now, but at least it gives you some time to finance and ask yourself these pressing questions:

"Do I really want be that person who doesn't go? Everyone on Facebook is talking about it, then there's little ol' me..."

As well as:

"What if 'Hamilton' never comes back to Des Moines? Can I live with myself if I pass this up?"

3. Shock

Like many fans, you've probably already made your decision: "I AM GOING TO SEE 'HAMILTON.'"

**Checks pulse while mind races in celebration**

And be sure to give yourself that much-deserved high-five:

4. Eagerness ... again

We know: June 2018 can't come soon enough. Until then, resume binge-watching "Hamilton" YouTube clips and repeatedly listening to Spotify playlists EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

You've made it this long, fellow Iowans. What's another year of waiting going to hurt?

You can do it.
