Last summer, Full Court Press, the owners of bars like el Bait Shop, The Royal Mile and Hessen Haus, announced The Iowan Craft Beer Hall, to feature more than 75 Iowa beers on tap. At the time no location was named, but Full Court Press has signed a lease at the Dilley Manufacturing building, 215 E. Third St., in the East Village.

"We know the east side is hot and the city has eyes looking south of Court Avenue because that's where things are headed," Full Court Press partner Jeff Bruning said. "There are also some hotels coming in there, and that's done well for us at el Bait Shop and High Life Lounge."

Bruning said there's no strict timetable for the bar, but he expects it to open at the end of this year or in early 2016. He said the space is the biggest of any Full Court Press property, around the size of the company's Buzzard Billy's, and they have the space to expand even more.

"I believe we'll be Des Moines' only warehouse bar, it's basically an old warehouse, a big, huge room," Bruning said. "It's similar to what you get at Wooly's, with big columns and wide open space."

The space is set, but Bruning said the name is not. The Iowan Craft Beer Hall was the name in last year's announcement, but Bruning said that was more of a placeholder.

"We're trying to find a name that fits perfectly for us," Bruning said.

The location was initially named on the Iowa Girl on the Go website.
