Get ready for two days of beer, wine and food tastings, Des Moines.

The 10th anniversary of Iowa's Premier Beer, Wine and Food Expo takes place Friday and Saturday at Hy-Vee Hall at Iowa Events Center. About 5,000 people are expected to attend.

Plenty of new features are in store, including a Crowler station for purchasing beer, the pairing of yoga with champagne, live interactive cooking shows on stage and live music on both nights instead of just one.

Single-day general admission tickets are $35 and can be purchased at iowaeventscenter.com and give access to the show floor, samples from vendors and restaurants, and access to all three stages for demos. Other ticket package upgrades include a multi-course dinner or a yoga class with a champagne toast.

Guests can taste a wide assortment of beer, wine and food from local distributors, vendors and restaurants — and purchase to take home, watch cooking demonstrations, and listen to chefs and speakers from Des Moines' food scene.

Guests can mingle as they sip and sample wares from the Midwest’s best breweries, wineries and restaurants. Live music, speakers and activities can be seen on three stages — Pub Crawl (located in the beer garden), Vino, and What’s Cooking — emceed by Moose from LAZER 103.3.

The Gourmet Pairing Experience is located on Level 1 of Hy-Vee Hall and combines a tapas-style multi-course meal presented with Des Moines top chef-selected wine or beer. Reservations can be made in advance on a first-come, first-served basis with limited seating for 20.

If you taste a beverage you like and want to have more, beer and wine can be purchased to take home. For the first time, attendees can take home draft beer in Crowlers — special 32-ounce refillable cans. 

All attendees who wish to purchase beer and wine at the show are invited to leave their selections at the Bottle Check at no charge. Curbside pickup will be available with help from volunteers. Purchases of six or more six-packs of beer or bottles of wine get a 15 percent discount.

A number of rare beer releases will be sold until they run out. These beers will not be available to sample, and there will be different selections offered on Friday and Saturday.
