"Run-Around" and "Hook" rockers Blues Traveler will perform at the Iowa Speedway in Newton on July 17. The concert is part of the NAPA Auto Parts Concert Series and will follow the conclusion of the 150-lap ARCA Racing Series and will be free for ticket holders of that event or the July 18 IndyCar Series Iowa Corn 300.
Fronted by the harmonica-wielding frontman John Popper, Blues Traveler rose to fame in the mid 90s thanks to the success of the album "Four," and the rising popularity of jam-focused festivals. In April, Blues Traveler released its 12th album, "Blow Up the Moon."
Other concerts in the NAPA Auto Parts Series include John Michael Montgomery on May 16 and Finger Eleven on June 19.
Tickets for the race start at $30.
