Get ready to bang your head, Iowans. Famed rock act Marilyn Manson is bringing his show to the beautiful people of Des Moines in early 2018.
Set to take place Jan. 30, 2018 at Seven Flags Event Center in Clive, general admission tickets to see Manson go on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 20 via ticketmaster.com and at the Seven Flags box office (2100 NW 100th St., Clive). Doors to the show are scheduled to open at 7 p.m. with music kicking off at 8 p.m.
Electronic act Alice Glass is set to open.
The industrial rock icon last appeared in Des Moines at Wells Fargo Arena in 2016, alongside hometown metal behemoth Slipknot. Manson, age 48, released his latest studio album, “Heaven Upside Down,” on Oct. 6.
A pivotal figure in 1990s and '00s alternative metal and hard rock, Manson is known for numbers such as “The Beautiful People,” “Coma White” and Eurythmics cover “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These).” Manson has earned four Grammy Award nominations, most recently in 2013 for "Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance" for his work on the track "No Reflection."
The announcement comes following an onstage incident in New York City on Sept. 30, where the star was injured when a stage prop fell on him. The incident caused Manson to cancel a number of October shows.
