Famed songwriter Jackson Browne announced Monday his return to the Hawkeye state.
"The Pretender" singer plans to perform alongside his band at the Des Moines Civic Center on June 21, says a news release from the organization. Tickets go on sale Friday at 9 a.m. via dmpa.org, at the Civic Center ticketing office (221 Walnut St.) or by phone at 515-246-2300.
A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, Browne last played Des Moines in 2015, a show at Hoyt Sherman Place.
The seven-time Grammy Award nominee is known for tracks such as "Running on Empty," "Stay," "Doctor My Eyes" and "These Days." Browne co-wrote with Glenn Frey famed Eagles song "Take It Easy."
His 14th studio album, "Standing in the Breach," debuted in 2014.
