The Iowa State Fair Parade will have a different route than usual Wednesday.

The state's largest parade usually heads straight down Grand Avenue, but the River Bridge closure necessitates a less direct path.

Wednesday's parade will start at the intersection of Finkbine and Walnut. The procession will head west on Walnut, then turn right onto East 7th Street.

A left turn onto Locust Street will allow the parade to cross the Des Moines River using the Locust Street Bridge. A right turn onto 2nd Avenue, then a left on Grand, means the parade's ending point will be the same as in past years.

The parade begins at 6:15 p.m. Iowa Public Television's parade broadcast will start at 7:30 p.m. on their network and on Facebook Live.
