It's hard to miss this bright red food truck, with its sleek, striped design and enticing fry logo. Powered by Fries has been serving up Belgian "pomme frites" since 2014, when Proof founders Sean Wilson, a James Beard nominated chef, and Zach Mannheimer, (also) founder of the Des Moines Social Club, dreamed up the idea.

Now rolling through the streets of DSM, the environment-friendly truck is creating enough power to not only twice-cook the fries in recyclable oil, but to leave local stomachs growling for more. Here are three pimped-out fry baskets you won't want to miss.

Buffalo Fries ($9)

If buffalo wings and fries had a baby, this would be it. Tangy blue cheese, scallions, and a homemade buffalo sauce offer an option even non-spicy fans can be on board with. The crispy bacon crumbles add a melt-in-your-mouth finish.

De Burgo ($9)

The trendiest of all, this vegetarian option is tossed and coated in olive and truffle oils, garlic, fresh herbs and Parm. It's so fancy, you'd never guess it came from a food truck. All it needs is a solid dipper like aioli or ranch.

Golden Sticks of Happiness ($9)

If you love Asian fusion, this is the basket for you. Enjoy a creative combination of Korean beef, crunchy kimchi and cheddar cheese. Things get saucy, thanks to sriracha and roasted red pepper creme. Not into spicy? Not to worry, the cheese and thickness of the fries helps tame the heat.

Warning: These specialty baskets are huge, so bring a friend for sharing.
