When Des Moinians Jenna and Jake Williams said I do on Oct. 11, 2014, many details and special touches had gone into making their big day a day to remember.
Their ceremony took place at Lutheran Church of Hope, and their reception was in the light-filled and beautiful grounds of Glen Oaks Country Club.
While both attending Iowa State University, Jake and Jenna met through a mutual friend their sophomore year. From then on, the rest is history. Jake proposed at Glen Oaks with a dozen hot pink roses, her favorite, in 2013. And on October 2014, seven years strong, they were both saying their vows at the wedding of their dreams.
With curated elegant and handmade details and a crowd of their closest family and friends, 270 guests in total, Jenna and Jake's wedding was a beautiful celebration.
After the ceremony, the couple and their bridal party were whisked away in a party bus to take photos and to greet their waiting guests for a night of great food, music, dancing and drinks. Glen Oaks Country club had been transformed to an elegant, luminous fete with gorgeous centerpieces, peach and blush florals and decor.
"Our color palette was blush, peach and ivory, and we wanted our ceremony to have a glamorous woodsy feel and for our reception to have a lot of candlelight and cozy ambiance when our guests walked in," Jenna said.
"Our dance floor was outside so we had lots of uplighting. Our monogram in the middle of the dance floor, we really wanted this to add focus to the dance floor and to feel like a big party!"

Big day attire
Jenna found her Jim Hjelm blush and peach toned sweetheart neckline stunner at none other than Schaffer's Bridal. Jenna fell in love with the tulle and lace and how the tones went perfectly with the colors she had in mind for her color scheme.
She finished the look from head to toe with a dramatic cathedral length veil and a pair of Ivanka Trump Ivory Sparklers. Her bridesmaids also wore long elegant Jim Hjelm dresses that were dark gray and complemented Jenna's look perfectly.
Jake and his groomsmen found their dark gray suits at The Backroom in Beaverdale. The suits were a perfect neutral accent to Jenna and her bridesmaids.

Polished and primped
Jenna and her seven bridesmaids received the royal treatment from her glam squad. Anna Terronez, a Chanel consultant, did the makeup, creating Jenna's naturally dramatic look. Hairstylist Jenna Reiter from Rick Mosley constructed the perfectly placed chignons for Jenna and her bridesmaids.

"I feel like we were blessed with the dream team of vendors for our wedding day," Jenna said. "Kelly's team at Bella Fora did all of our flowers and decor at the church and reception. Jamie and her team at Glen Oaks were amazing and made the day go off with no issues! Trent Keegan from Christian printers did all of our paper goods."
Jenna and Jake's timeless and elegant tablescapes and centerpieces were created to correlate with the elegant theme and color scheme. The invitations, table numbers and programs were all synchronized with clean lines and blush colored paper.

Let them eat cake
The beautiful two-tiered cake that Jenna and Jake cut was by Let Them Eat Cake in Valley Junction. They had a plethora of flavors for their guests to enjoy: pink Champagne, lemon, red velvet and raspberry chocolate. The rest of the food, hors d'oeuvres and drinks were prepared by Glen Oaks.

All about that bass
Jenna and Jake wanted the reception to be a big party to enjoy with all of their guests, and they made sure this would happen by settling for nothing but the best. They wanted the dance floor to be very special. Their DJ was Jake Feldman with BC productions, and he did a phenomenal job spinning the tracks.
"Music was very important to us, so we wanted to make sure we had the best!"

One of the most special moments was Jenna's first dance with her father. He actually wrote the song for her. Zach Svoboda sang and played the guitar.
Jenna's mother's family is well-known for making homemade caramel apples and caramel, called Pokey's. The caramel apples, from a family recipe, have been a tradition for 76 years and are sold in Carroll. Her grandfather, who was the first to make the caramel, passed away in August 2014. Jenna and Jake celebrated his legacy by placing a caramel at each guest's seat.
Advice to future brides
Jenna's advice to future brides would be to make a list right when they start planning. The list should include the most important things that you and your future spouse absolutely want to have, and make sure those are a priority when it comes down to deciding how to allocate your budget.
