Good morning! We're in the last week of the first month of 2016. The Iowa caucuses are right around the corner. Where has the time gone? I'm going to enjoy the last few "Des Moines is cool" articles, glimpses of of rock star-like politicians and celebrities, and then bundle up for the rest of this harsh winter season.
We reached that time of the year where we get a lot of trend pieces about how nifty our city is. In the last week, Politico was inspired to write about Des Moines, and how cool it is. Spoiler alert: Des Moines is really, really hip and not boring, y'all. There are restaurants, tech startups and other hipster things to keep the youths entertained. But you already knew that. For now, let's just sit back and try to enjoy all the Des Moines love.
