Happy Friday eve! Is anybody else looking forward to the weekend as much as I am? Before we get to the nitty gritty of what's happening around town, I need your help. I'm working on a story coming up that's tied to Mother's Day and I want to feature YOU. It's about the moments and memories that we share with our mother's via text. I shared my own story about the one thing that confuses me about texts from my mom. Feel free to share your stories with me using the #LoveMomStories hashtag or email me at email@example.com. I can't wait to hear your stories! Now the fun begins (and don't forget to tell a friend to subscribe here)...
There's some good news for anybody who has a delayed flight or extra long layover in Des Moines. You know that Italian men's boutique Lord Midas in downtown Des Moines? Well, a smaller version of the store at the Des Moines International Airport is coming in mid June. The store will stick mainly to accessories and small leather goods such as travel bags and wallets.

You get a Zombie Burger! You get a Zombie Burger! You get a Zombie Burger! Everybody gets a Zombie Burger! Well, not everybody. More Iowans will be able to get their fair share of GOREmet burgers, shakes and the rest of the crazy concoctions that the ZB team dreams up. The downtown Iowa City and Coral Ridge Mall locations will open later this summer. The Ankeny restaurant is scheduled to open May 10 in the Northview Centre II, 1550 N. Ankeny Blvd., Suite 100.

From Drake to Flo Rida to MGMT, the stars of our Iowa Cubs baseball team have a pretty eclectic mix of options for walk-up music. If I was looking for a song that would set the tone for an at-bat, I'd probably go for some Beyonce. Once the beat dropped on Formation, they would know that this girl means business.
