Back in December, when we kicked off this newsletter, I don't think I ever introduced myself — how rude of me!? I'm the new person behind all the bylines at Juice, and you get to tell me what to do for my first month on the job. I want you to tell me what food and drinks to try, events to attend and people to meet. Shoot me suggestions via Twitter or email me at ameena@dmjuice.com. You can also meet me in person at the Des Moines Social Club this Thursday from noon to 1 p.m., where I'll be happy to chat with you about those things and the Mother's Day project I'm working on. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming(and don't forget to tell a friend to subscribe here)...

THANKS, OBAMA MILLENNIALS

If you're on the market for a home in metro Des Moines and you can't find one. Blame us millennials. It's not all our fault, but part of the blame has been placed on us. An average of 5,000 to 6,000 homes being on the market is pretty normal for metro Des Moines. However, at the end of March there were only 2,983 homes available because of a rush of young buyers. Realtor.com said millennials accounted for 59 percent of all mortgages in our area. The median price for a home even went up from $158,250 last year to $162,000. Yikes!

ZOMBIE BURGER GIVES YOU WIIIIIIINGS

Zombie Burger's East Village location is adding WINGS to its menu. Yes, you read that correctly. WINGS. Eight different flavors: Mild Buffalo, Spicy Buffalo, Sweet Heat BBQ, Carolina Mustard BBQ, Sweet Chili Sauce, Brown Sugar Rub, Chorizo Rub and Southside Ranch. They sound tasty, but are they any good? Well, I'll be the judge of that: This Wednesday, I'm going to Zombie Burger to try these out for myself. I'll be documenting my findings on Juice's Snapchat account. Follow along!
