So, we're doing a thing.
Like music? How about free stuff? Well … we’re combining those things at the first Juice pop-up show and Side Sessions filming event. Mark your calendar for Aug. 9 when Des Moines-based songwriter Dan Tedesco and Juice team up for an exclusive filming of the next Side Sessions performance. (Did I mention it’s free? Because it is.) Come early and snag some free Juice gear … or come late and just enjoy the music. Either way, it’s a win! Stay glued to Juice on Facebook and Twitter as more information — such as the shoot's location — rolls out on the live Side Sessions show. Now, for all the headlines you need to know …

The first session, featuring Iowa folk-pop duo The Well Pennies, dropped last week. Like what you hear? Mark your calendar for Aug. 9 to be involved in the next Side Sessions shoot.
Looking for something to do this month? There’s a Juice list for that. Entertainment options in August range from a headbanging homecoming from Des Moines metal masters Slipknot to the all hip-hop music festival Fresh Fest and more.
A new diner lands in downtown Des Moines this month. Vivian’s Diner & Drinks is real close to opening its doors. Patrons could dig into dishes such as Iowa mac and cheese, bacon croquettes and breakfast sandwiches as soon as Aug. 10.
