Good morning, Iowa! 

Did you miss me? I took a vacation last week, but I'm back and still trying to catch up on everything that I've missed. One thing I missed? According to data collected by Internet Service Partners using Google Trends, Iowa is one of the top 10 most interested states using "Pokemon Go." What was this data based on? Well, they looked at the number of millennials, the obesity rate and physical activity levels for each state. Here's what else Iowans are talking about...  


By 2017, more than 2,300 apartments are scheduled to open in downtown Des Moines. This big flood of high-end housing will test how much renters are willing to pay to live downtown. In about half of the new apartment developments, one-bedroom units start at more than $1,000 a month. Yikes!


Dean Thomann, one of Iowa's biggest Willie Nelson fans, got to meet Nelson ahead of his performance at Hinterland this past weekend. Aaron Young writes:

Thomann, who is battling Stage 4 colorectal cancer, met country music icon and seven-time Grammy Award winner Willie Nelson on the second day of the music festival. Thomann made the trip with his wife, Susan, following chemotherapy treatment that lasted five weeks at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and just days before an impending surgery that will remove a cancerous spot near his spinal cord.
