Well, if we really have to part ways ...
If summer really must go, then at least fall is bringing some must-catch events to the metro. Looking to plan your weekend activities before winter consumes everything warm and fun and right with the world? Juice put together a list of 15 must-do things in Iowa this fall. Start with making plans to attend World Food & Music Festival or by taking a trip to an apple orchard.
It's pizza ... served super-fast. One Juice writer put her taste buds to the test and tried different pies at the newly opened Blaze Pizza (300 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway). The restaurant dishes out pizza in 180 seconds ... but how's it taste? Read her thoughts to see if super-fast equals super-good.
ICYMI: There was a huge show at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday. Coined Back Porch Revival, the likes of Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett, Tucker Beathard (yes, brother to Iowa quarterback C.J. Beathard) all performed inside the stadium, marking the first concert in Kinnick history. Here's a look into what went down (including Ashton Kutcher singing "Friends In Low Places").
Tucked away in rural Maquoketa, Iowa is Codfish Hollow, a barn turned one-of-a-kind music venue. It's hosted the likes of Norah Jones, Counting Crows and Kurt Vile ... and, next weekend, the venue plans to throw its first festival, called GARP. More than 20 acts, including Guided By Voices, LOLO and The Rentals, are slated to perform. In a barn. In Iowa. Find more info about the festival on the Codfish Hollow Facebook and learn more about Codfish Hollow from Juice's story that ran earlier this summer.
Right around the corner ...
