Kick 2016 to the curb and start your new year with a dose of Your Morning Juice. Here's a look at what's going on around Des Moines this week.

New year, new ... town square?

A new hotel is coming to Ankeny's Prairie Trail, marking a project that will help create a 'long-sought' town square in the suburban development. The hotel, a Residence Inn, will be the first in Prairie Trail and plans to feature a street-level retail space and possibly a fountain of public art. Read about the project in full here.

A winter full of fun.

Juice's winter arts and entertainment preview is jam-packed with comedy, theater and music events taking place across central Iowa. Get details on when to see acts the likes of Adam Devine, Eric Church, Eddie George (appearing in "Chicago"), Kristin Chenoweth and more by reading the guide here.
