Saturday: The finest grain products come together at Beer n' Bread at Living History Farms, 11121 Hickman Road, Urbandale. Iowa breweries, including Confluence, 515 Brewing and Millstream will sample their beverages, along with bread by La Mie, South Union and others. Sessions are held at 3 and 5 p.m. $20. Go to lhf.org.
Nova Labs Unplugged
Saturday:A number of acts on the Nova Labs label will perform an unplugged show starting at 8 p.m. at Bluestem, 3329 Lincoln Way, Ames. Black Maria Film Festival
Sunday: The Des Moines Art Center, 4700 Grand Ave., hosts screenings of the Black Maria Film Festival at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The festival, named after the first movie studio created by Thomas Edison, has been screening short films that range from animation to experimental works to documentaries.
