Friday-Saturday: Improv comedy troupe Comedy XPeriment performs "April Showers, Improv Flowers" shows at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 9 p.m. Saturday in the Civic Center's Stoner Theater, 221 Walnut St. Comedy XPeriment mixes short form improv skits with longer pieces using suggestions from the audience. $10. Saturday: The Georgia sludge metal duop Juciver performs at 9 p.m. at Vaudeville Mews, 212 Fourth St. The husband/wife duo of Gazelle Amber Valentine and Edgar Livengood have spent more than 20 years creating maximum sound with minimal instrumentation. Saturday: Party like its 1985 when legendary punk acts The Queers and Richie Ramone perform at 9 p.m. at Gas Lamp, 1501 Grand Ave. The Queers music is largely inspired by The Ramones and The Beach Boys, with frequent vocal harmonies. It's a fitting double bill, since Richie Ramone is a former member of The Ramones, performing on albums like "Too Tough to Die" and "Animal Boy." The Atom Age opens. $10 in advance, $15 at the door. One Iowa Sixth Annual Gala
Saturday:The Sixth Annual Gala for One Iowa celebrates equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Iowans with dinner, awards and a keynote address by author and HIV advocate Sean Strub of the Sero Project. The event takes place at the Temple for Performing Arts, 1011 Locust St., from 6:30-9:30 p.m., with an after party with live music and a cash bar until 11:30. Saturday: The Iowa Energy closes out the season with two games this week at Wells Fargo Arena, 730 Third St. The team takes on the Westchester Nicks at 7 p.m. Wednesday and the Maine Red Claws at 7 p.m. Saturday. There will be a bobblehead giveaway at Saturday's game. $8-$50. Go to iowaenergy.com.
