Three questions with Brian Campos
Brian Campos, 31, hosts a live version of his Pants Off Podcast with The Maytags at 9 p.m. Tuesday at The Lift, 222 Fourth St.
Q: What made you want to start doing a podcast?
I felt like I was getting disconnected from the music scene, which I had kind of been involved in back when I was 19 or 20. A podcast felt like a good way to get keyed back in. I've been doing it for about a year and a half now.
Q: How did the idea for the live version come together?
Dustin (Smith, of The Maytags) asked me to do it. He wanted to do something different at the end of the residency they're doing at The Lift. I had toyed with doing a live version before, but didn't know if I could pull it off. It's kind of scary, but I think it will be worth it. A lot of other podcasts do things like this. DEFT will be filming it, but I don't know the extent of what they're planning to do with it.
Q: If you could land a dream interview for Pants Off Podcast, who would it be?
I'm a huge Megadeth fan, so maybe Dave Mustaine. He would be cool. Or Mike Patton from Faith No More.
