Jazz in July
Thursday-Saturday: Jazz in July closes out its 2015 season this week. Thursday features The Heather MacLennan Trio at 6:30 p.m. at City Park in Norwalk, Friday’s show is the Scott Davis Quartet at Beaverdale Park at 6:30 p.m., and the finale concert starts at 5 p.m. Saturday at West Glen Town Center, with music by the Betsy Hickok Group, The Tighten Up and others. 3 Days Grace
Thursday: Canadian hard rockers 3 Days Grace perform at 7 p.m. at Seven Flags Event Center, 2100 N.W. 100th St., Clive. The band’s hits include songs like “Just Like You,” “Animal I Have Become” and “Pain.” In March 3DG released “Human,” its fifth album and first with new singer Matt Waist. Hinterland After Parties
Friday-Saturday: After the music stops at Water Works Park, things move to Wooly’s, 504 E. Locust St., for Hinterland after parties. On Friday TV on the Radio plays a DJ set starting at 11 p.m. Admission is $5 and a festival wristband is required. On Saturday Dead Larry plays at 11 p.m., $5 or free with a Hinterland wristband. Saturday: A trio of local acts play Lefty’s, 2307 University Ave., at 8 p.m. After some time off, Handlebar is performing regularly again. Druids and Fetal Pig will open the show. $5. Go to leftyslivemusic.com.
