The 2016 80/35 Music Festival will take place July 8-9 at Western Gateway Park in downtown Des Moines, according to a press release.
80/35 presented by U.S. Cellular — as the festival is officially known — will feature "nearly 50 national, regional, and local bands in paid and free areas, with music starting at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and noon on Saturday and going until midnight each day," the release stated.
This will be the second year in a row that the festival hasn't been scheduled to coincide with the July 4 weekend.
Tickets for the ninth annual festival will go on sale in March.
"80/35 has drawn an estimated 30,000 attendees annually and featured numerous acts including Weezer, Wilco, Cake, Conor Oberst, David Byrne & St. Vincent, Wu-Tang Clan, Death Cab for Cutie, The Avett Brothers, Girl Talk, of Montreal, The Flaming Lips, Ben Harper, The Roots, Deerhunter, Umphrey’s McGee, Dan Deacon, Grace Potter, Broken Social Scene, Yeasayer, Leftover Salmon, Black Francis, Yonder Mountain String Band, Andrew Bird, Atmosphere, Matisyahu, Titus Andronicus, and more," the release said.
