Basketball fans who waited until the last minute to purchase tickets to today's first-round NCAA tournament games in Des Moines have reason to rejoice: it looks like there are some bargains to be had.

That is, if you don't mind sitting in the nosebleed seats.

Some tickets for today's Session 1 are going for as little as $14.99 on ticket vendor StubHub.  And Session 2 seats can be found for as little as $16 a piece.

One session includes two games.

Session 1 includes a matchup between Colorado and Connecticut and a Kansas-Austin Peay game. Session 2 includes the Indiana-Chattanooga game and a Kentucky-Stony Brook game

Ticket prices surged early in the week, a byproduct of a stacked slate of basketball blue bloods and early pre-sale events that allowed many locals to scoop up much of the ticket inventory months before the bracket was announced on Sunday.

But there appears to be plenty of inventory still available. On Wednesday, Wells Fargo Arena released some upper-level seats at face value for today's games. The arena's website still shows ticket availability as of Thursday morning. Those seats are going for $76, $81 and $105 depending on location.

So far, the bargains seem to be relegated to today's first-round games. Tickets for the Saturday's second-round games are ranging between $187 to $1,100 on StubHub.
