Bratwurst! Lederhosen! Beer!

It’s time again to toast a lager of fresh fall brew at Adventureland Oktoberfest in Altoona. Returning for a fourth year, central Iowa’s amusement park transforms Saturday into an age 21-and-up autumnal party boasting food, games, music and college football tailgates.

Tickets cost $40 and organizers plan to welcome roughly 10,000 festival-goers to the park. Ticket price includes parking and each attendee receives a free can of Sam Adams beer. Adventureland season pass holders earn free entry into the festival.

Here’s a look at what’s planned for the celebration.

The grub: Traditional eateries at Adventureland plan to make Oktoberfest menu upgrades. You’ll find bacon-wrapped turkey legs, pork shanks with cabbage, Bavarian pretzels, bratwurst and, for dessert, pumpkin spice mini doughnuts.

Local favorites Strudl Haus, Baru 66 and Campbell’s Concessions plan to sling food and drink throughout the day, as well. Follow the interactive map below for a guide to Oktoberfest food.

None of that makes your mouth water? Don’t worry. Stands still plan to dish year-round meals like burgers, barbecue sandwiches and tacos.

The beer: It wouldn’t be Oktoberfest without a cold pint. And Adventureland plans to offer about 70 varieties of brew Saturday. Craft, domestic and local should each be covered throughout the park. Embracing the spirit of fall, organizers dedicated an entire drink stand to ciders and pumpkin beers.

A dollar of each $5 drink purchased plans to be donated to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the event website said.

The entertainment: Five stages plan to host more than 20 acts. Pop culture’s beloved “MMMBop” brothers Hanson lead the day’s music offerings, performing at 1 p.m. on the main stage.

The lineup features Iowa’s own Royce Johns, Pianopalooza, Pork Tornadoes, Casey Muessigmann Band and Cody Hicks. Organizers plan to complement the music with a smattering of comedy, hypnotism and circus tent entertainment.

Adventureland rides running on Saturday include The Monster, Storm Chaser, Outlaw, Space Shot and more.

And, yes, football fans, there’s a place to watch the game. For $15, dedicated Cyclone and Hawkeye fans get access to a tailgate zone featuring an all-you-can-eat buffet with brats, hamburgers, hot dogs, twice baked mashed potatoes and other foods.
