Brewers describe Tip The Cow, a cocoa espresso milk stout from the Cedar Valley brewery, as "... a rich, but smooth option, boasting notes of roast and cocoa alongside velvety sweetness." A popular Iowa stout, craft fans can find it on tap or in cans in the Des Moines metro.
Jelly's favorite Iowa beer, Peanut Butter Porter, makes a finals debut in its second year competing. Hailing from the shores of Clear Lake, the brewery describes this beer as combining "that creamy chocolate peanut butter flavor with a robust porter." You can snag Peanut Butter Porter from most metro craft beer providers.
A total 46 breweries represented this year's field, with IPA dominating beer styles at 23 entries. Most of the participating breweries selected which beers compete in the Brackets.
Previous champion breweries include West O Beer (2016), Confluence Brewing Company (2017) and Fenders Brewing (2018).
