This season's new "Bachelor," Peter Weber, is healing after emergency surgery in Costa Rica.

According to E! and Us Weekly, Weber, who competed on the latest season of ABC's "The Bachelorette" before becoming the next "Bachelor," suffered a fall in Costa Rica, injuring his face.

In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, "Bachelor" host Chris Harrison confirmed Weber "suffered a freak accident" and "got a cut on his head."

Iowan Kelsey Weier, who was also Miss Iowa 2017, is one of 33 contestants on ABC's "The Bachelor."

"He did get stitches but he's 100% OK and production is already back underway," Harrison said, adding that Weber is "still the dashing, handsome pilot we've all dreamed of."

So, Weier will still have a chance to compete for the new bachelor's heart. Season 24 of "The Bachelor" will air Jan. 6 on ABC.
