Take a look at Carbon, Court Avenue's newest bar

Opening weekend at Court Avenue's newest bar, Carbon, appeared to be a success — all thanks to their Periodic Table of Cocktails, of course.

The look

Glittery. From the confetti-dusted floor and crystal chandeliers to the bartenders' black-sequined skirts and "Get Your Shine On" shirts, this bar was all about sparkle. Pay no mind to the Big Buck game along the back wall. Perhaps it's a memento left by former owner, Beer Can Alley? Either way, something tells me Ke$ha would approve of this mix-matched space.

The crowd

At 11 p.m., the bar was quiet, but come 11:30 the Court Avenue crowd bustled its way in, alive and buzzing. Bachelorettes in little black dresses made their way in and out, singles mingled at the bar and a lone man in flannel was the only one to hit the dance floor — breaking it down to Chris Brown. (No DJ = mainstream hip-hop tunes, obviously.) Overall, it was a good mix of 20- and 30-somethings. It's the same crowd you'd expect to find at The Exchange.

The menu

Introducing the Periodic Table of Cocktails — aka the most creative drink menu on Court Avenue. The list features a collection of 103 different cocktails, beers and shots. I went for the Pink Mustang and the Blonde Headed Slut.

The Pink Mustang: This copper cup drink was a tart, grapefruit twist on the traditional mule and featured three ingredients: Belvedere Pink Grapefruit Vodka, ginger beer and lime. It was crisp, refreshing and extra heavy on the vodka. Their melon mule was also a fun mule spin.

Blonde Headed Slut: Served as a drink or shot, this scandalous mix is as fruity as they come. It's made with herbal liqueur, peach schnapps and pineapple juice. You can also order the Red Headed Slut, which swaps out the pineapple juice for a lip-smacking cranberry.
