Locals know that Waveland Cafe has one terrific brunch.
Classic pop star Neil Diamond had to try it out for himself while he was in Des Moines.
Diamond, 76, tweeted Sunday hours before his concert in Des Moines that he was eating at the metro cafe.
"Breakfast at the #WavelandCafe in Des Moines," Diamond's tweet read. "Great breakfast needed so I can be strong for the show tonight... mmm hash browns."

A 2011 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Diamond performed at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on Sunday as part of his "50 year" anniversary tour. He's well known for his songs such as "Sweet Caroline," "Hello Again” and "Song Sung Blue," among others.
