Outlets of Des Moines in Altoona continues to add stores after being open for one year. Des Moines Register


Get ready for a day filled with food truck fare and ice-cold beer — and perhaps a little shopping. 

The Outlets of Des Moines, located at 801 Bass Pro Drive NW in Altoona, will host the second annual Brews and Bites Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Over a dozen local food trucks will join area craft breweries to offer a wide range of food and beer.

Live entertainment will take place during the entire eight hours of the festival and will spotlight local singers and entertainers.

And admission is free.

Twelve beers will be on tap including local options like selections from Reclaimed Rails Brewing Company and Brightside Aleworks.

“We are excited to again bring Brews and Bites to Des Moines,” said TJ Just, general manager of Outlets of Des Moines. “Last year we welcomed thousands of visitors to this festival and we know this year’s lineup of exceptional food trucks and craft beers will make for a fun-filled, delicious day at the center. We are also pleased to present a wonderful array of musical performances throughout the day that will keep the crowd entertained."
