How many aebleskiver can you eat in eight minutes? More than 107?
World champion competitive eater Miki Sudo will compete with other top competitive eaters at the third annual Tivoli Fest World Aebleskiver-Eating Championship.
Sudo is the No. 7 ranked eater in the world and the number one-ranked woman.
The competition, hosted by Major League Eating, will be held at 2 p.m. on May 25 at Tivoli Fest in downtown Elk Horn, Iowa, one of the largest rural Danish settlements in the United States.
At the 2018 championship, No. 3 ranked Geoffrey Esper consumed 107 aebleskivers in eight minutes to set a new world record in the discipline.

Originating in the country of Denmark, aebleskiver are a type of round pancake cooked in a special stovetop pan with half-spherical molds. The center is soft and fluffy and the crust is crisp and browned. They can be served with powdered sugar, topped or filled with jam or maple syrup or rolled in sugar.
“The aebleskiver is one of the most elegant and lyrical dishes on the eating calendar," Major League Eating emcee Sam Barclay said. "There is no better place to be than Elk Horn, Iowa for the aebleskiver-eating championship. This competition requires serious willpower and jaw strength."
