At the end of 2018, the food court at Kaleidoscope at the Hub emptied out in preparation for the building to be demolished later this year.

In its place, local development group Blackbird Investments plans to build a $100 million, 33-story apartment high-rise called 515 Tower.

From the space that was home to nearly a dozen lunch eateries and food vendors, only three food vendors and a convenience store are left in the Des Moines skywalk, having relocated to other areas.
