Des Moines has lost a popular restaurant in West Des Moines.
Hagar's Manhattan Grill, located at 1970 Grand Ave. in West Des Moines, closed its doors permanently last week, according to a post on its Facebook page.
Owned by Kim and Fred Hagar, the restaurant opened in December 2015.
Hagar's Manhattan Grill was known for its deli sandwiches from its sister restaurant, Ingersoll eatery Hagar's Manhattan Deli, along with an expanded menu of items such as a Manhattan burger, a Southside sausage, quesadillas, appetizers and a full bar.
"Thank you all for stopping in at Manhattan Grill over these past few years," said the Facebook post from July 1. "Lots of good memories and it was awesome meeting some really good people. We closed this location last week, Manhattan Deli is still up and running. Thank you to all my employees!! Until the next venture..."
Hagar's Manhattan Deli has operated at 3705 Ingersoll Ave. for 37 years.
