Waukee has a new spot where you can order a quarter-pound barbecue bacon cheddar burger, chili cheese fries and a chocolate shake.

The ninth B-Bop’s burger restaurant in the metro opened on Wednesday at 855 E. Hickman Road in Waukee.

Owned by Bob Johnson, the homegrown company has restaurants in Des Moines, West Des Moines, Windsor Heights, Urbandale, Ankeny and Altoona.

"We opened today right in the middle of a big rainstorm," Johnson said. "Didn't seem to hurt business though." The restaurant will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Waukee Chamber of Commerce in August.
