The Iowa State Fair is coming fast. There are only a few days left until the festivities begin on Aug. 8 for 11 days of food and fun. 

Fairgoers are already picking out their new foods to try for 2019. This year's lineup of new Iowa State Fair foods has no shortage of the weird and wacky when it comes to new creations.

We assembled a list of 12 new foods and beverages we can't wait to try.

Apple Explosion

Apple slices covered in caramel sauce with various nuts and toppings.

Bauder's Ultimate Bacon Crisp Ice Cream

Two scoops of vanilla ice cream blanketed with a “new bacon streusel," topped with two hand-dipped chocolate bacon strips and garnished with a pair of homemade pecan beignets.

Berkshire Bacon Balls BLT

Quarter-pound Berkshire pork meatballs stuffed with cheese and bacon, wrapped with two pieces of bacon, served on a Parker House roll with lettuce, tomatoes and mayo.

Boozy Apple Pecan Caramel

Granny Smith apples dipped in homemade caramel with a bourbon-y spike and a good sprinkle of pecans. This one is not for kids, but you do not need to be 21 to have one.

Location: Iowa Orchard

Caramel Dipped Pecan Pie On A Stick

A sweet and salty dessert made from a homemade stuffed crust filled with homemade pecan pie filling, dipped in a chocolate caramel mixture and rolled in extra pecans and bacon.

The Chinese Sweet Corn Cup

A cup of Iowa sweet corn — grilled and cut from the cob — topped with thinly-sliced char siu (Chinese barbecue pork), walnuts, sesame seeds, Chinese five-spice sauce, shredded daikon radish and crispy wontons.

 Where to find 2020 presidential candidates at the 2019 Iowa State Fair 

Corn Dog Ale

Finally, you can have your favorite fair food in beer form. Introducing the Corn Dog Ale. This beer has 5.5% ABV and is brewed with 150 pounds of hot dog buns and corn bread. The brewery said it's a slightly smoky, mildly sweet brew has a distinctive

cornbread flavor. The brewery is not saying if you should drink this beer with mustard on the rim, but it's also not saying you shouldn't.

The Corn Stalker Cocktail Specialty Drink

A refreshing sweet and sour cocktail made with spiked lemonade and blended with Iowa sweet corn and jalapeno, served over ice and rimmed with green spicy sugar.

Dessert Poutine

Sweet potato waffle fries drizzled with chocolate and spicy honey and topped with Italian sweet cream cheese and candy-coated pecans.

Peach Empanadas

A filling made from peaches and mascarpone cheese, lightly seasoned with cinnamon and wrapped in a light turnover pastry, deep-fried and then dusted in powdered sugar, drizzled with caramel sauce and finished with crushed hot cinnamon candies.

Rainbow Poutine

Sriracha sour cream, white cheese sauce and guacamole.

Strawberry Chocolate Cheesecake Chimi

Flour tortilla stuffed with strawberry, chocolate and cream cheese filling, rolled

up and deep-fried until golden brown. Topped with cinnamon/sugar mixture and

drizzled with chocolate.
