Smoke from a malfunctioning grill closes downtown location of Burger King temporarily
A downtown location of Burger King is closed temporarily due to a malfunctioning grill allowing smoke to permeate the building.
Located at 655 Walnut St. inside the eastern half of the Kaleidoscope at the Hub buildings, Burger King will be closed temporarily while repairs are made.
"Burger King’s exhaust system connected to its grill is not functioning properly, and exhaust, smell and smoke was permeating into public spaces and adjacent tenant spaces," said a statement from EMC Insurance Companies. "The restaurant will be closed until repairs can be made. EMC will be involved in the process to ensure the systems are functioning properly."
EMC Insurance Companies owns and rents the western portion of the Kaleidoscope mall where Burger King has been located since 1986.
It is unclear when this location of Burger King will reopen.
