Davina and the Vagabonds
Friday: Minneapolis jazz blues act Davina and the Vagabonds perform at 8 p.m. at Forte, 615 Third St. Fronted by singer Davina Sowers, the band combines a New Orleans sound with Sowers' clever wordplay. Last year the band released its second album, "Sunshine." $15. Go to midwestix.com.
Little River Band
Saturday: Australia's Little River Band brings its "Cool Change" rock to the Val Air Ballroom, 301 Ashworth Road, West Des Moines, at 8 p.m. This year marks the band's 40th anniversary, during which time the band has racked up hits like "Help Is on Its Way," "Reminiscing" and "Take It Easy on Me." $37.
