Friday: Country singer Wayne "The Train" Hancock performs at 9 p.m. at Gas Lamp, 1501 Grand Ave. $5. Hancock, known as the King of the Juke Joint Swing, has been a big influence on Hank Williams III, with the latter singer having recorded several of Hancock's songs. Go to gaslampdsm.com.
Friday-Saturday: The Bacoon ride returns for a second helping of biking and bacon starting with a pre-party at 5 p.m. Friday in Waukee's Centennial Park. The ride starts at 6 a.m. Saturday with stops in Adel, Redfield, Linden, Panora, Yale, Herndon, Jamaica, Perry Minburn, Dallas Center and back to Waukee with crazy bacon dishes (or just plain bacon) at each stop. $70.
