Meghan Trainor bringing bass to Iowa State Fair

The Iowa State Fair has added "All About That Bass" singer Meghan Trainor to the Iowa State Fair Grandstand lineup. The 21-year-old pop star will perform on Aug. 22.

She'll have to contend with rapper Sir Mix-A-Lot for the most "bass"-obsessed act at this year's fair. Her hit song, a throwback to 50's and 60's doo wop, focuses on positive body image for women. It was nominated for Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, hitting No. 1 on the singles charts in more than 50 countries.

After releasing two independent albums, Trainor's major label debut, "Title," came out in January. Her other hits include "Lips Are Movin'" and "Dear Future Husband." She also wrote the song "DJ Tonight" off Rascal Flatt's 2014 album, "Rewind."

Ticket information is still TBA.
