Sioux City festival announces Aretha Franklin, Foster the People and more
The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, and "Pumped Up Kicks" rockers Foster the People will co-headline Saturday in the Park July 4 at Grandview Park in Sioux City. Gogol Bordello and North Mississippi Allstars will also perform.
Admission to the festival is free. This year marks the 25th Saturday in the Park, which in the past has featured acts like Carlos Santana, Wilco, The Allman Brothers and Ziggy Marley.
Franklin has had more than 100 singles chart on Billboard, including "Respect," "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" and "Think." Foster the People has been nominated for two Grammys and released its second album, "Supermodel," last year. Words can't describe how awesome Gogol Bordello is, so just watch this video. North Mississippi Allstars are a Grammy-nominated blues/rock band that has toured with Robert Plant, Dave Matthews Band and others.
For the last seven years Saturday in the Park has been the same weekend as 80/35, but this year it will be possible to attend both. And again, this show is free.
A second stage of regional and touring acts will be announced at a later date.
