John Hiatt and Lyle Lovett coming to Hoyt Sherman

Singer-songwriters Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt will perform an acoustic evening of music Oct. 16 at Hoyt Sherman Place.

Hiatt first rose to fame when Three Dog Night recorded his song "Sure As I'm Sittin' Here" and his tunes have been covered by Bob Dylan, B.B. King, Iggy Pop, Joe Cocker and many others. Hiatt's most recent album, "Terms of My Surrender," came out in 2014, earning two Grammy nominations.

Lovett's hits include "Cowboy Man," "She's No Lady" and Why I Don't Know." Lovett's most recent album, "Release Me," came out in 2012. In addition to music, Lovett is an actor who has appeared in multiple Robert Altman films, "Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas" and many more. Plus, he was briefly married to Julia Roberts, which is just a fun fact to trot out.
