Schoolboy Q brings fall tour to Iowa
Famed Los Angeles-based rapper Schoolboy Q (often stylized ScHoolboy Q) is set to bring his "Blank Face" tour to Seven Flags Event Center in Clive this October.
Scheduled for Oct. 26, the Des Moines-area tour stop comes in support of Schoolboy Q's latest studio effort, "Blank Face LP," which dropped on July 8 and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album sales chart this week.
The new album includes songs such as "THat Part," which features Kayne West, and "Groovy Tony," which features Jadakiss. Alongside the newly acclaimed 2016 release — which Pitchfork gave an 8.3 out of 10 review, saying it "show(s) the South Central native at his charismatic best" — Schoolboy Q is also known for releases such as the No. 1 Billboard 200 charting album "Oxymoron," which features singles like "Man of the Year" and "Studio."
Schoolboy Q earned two Grammy Award nominations — "Rap/Sung Collaboration" and "Best Rap Album" — in 2015 for his work on "Oxymoron."
Support on the show, which is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m., comes from Joey Badass. Tickets, which go on sale July 22, cost $37 in advance and $40 on the day of the show. Tickets are available at ticketmaster.com.
