Corey Taylor to examine the 'rotting core of America' in next book
The fourth book from Iowa native Corey Taylor is set to hit shelves in summer 2017.
“America 51: A Probe into the Realities That Are Hiding Inside the Greatest Country in the World,” drops on July 11 via Da Capo Press, hard rock music publication Loudwire reports. The book comes after the 2015 release of Taylor’s third literary effort, “You’re Making Me Hate You.”
Da Capo Press posted an official description of the book on its website, calling it a "reflection on what his itinerant youth and frequent worldwide travels … have taught him."
“Balancing humor, outrage, and disbelief, Taylor examines the rotting core of America, evaluating everything from politics and race relations to family and ‘man buns,’" the description reads. “By continuing the wave of moral outrage begun in ‘You're Making Me Hate You,’ Taylor skewers contemporary America in his own signature style.”
Taylor fronts the Des Moines-based Grammy Award winning metal outfit Slipknot and best-selling hard rock outfit Stone Sour. A few live dates remain for Slipknot this year, according to the band’s website, including a version of the Slipknot-curated festival, Knotfest, in Japan.
It is shaping up to be a busy 2017 for Taylor. Along with the announced release date of “America 51,” he told Billboard that new Stone Sour music is likely to be on the way. His other published works include “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Heaven” and “Seven Deadly Sins.”
