Country star Thomas Rhett is headed to the Iowa State Fair Grandstand this summer
Thomas Rhett talks about the ACM's Nashville Tennessean
Another night of modern country is headed this summer to the Iowa State Fair.
"Unforgettable" singer Thomas Rhett brings his show to the Grandstand on Aug. 15, a Wednesday. Tickets go on sale May 11 at 10 a.m. via etix.com or by phone at 800-514-3849. Danielle Bradbery, winner of "The Voice" season four, opens the show.
The "T-Shirt" singer is familiar with playing Iowa's biggest stages. He provided main support at "Back Porch Revival," the 2016 Kinnick Stadium concert led by Blake Shelton (where he covered "Friends in Low Places" with Iowa's own Ashton Kutcher) and, in 2017, Rhett appeared at Tree Town Music Festival in Forest City.
He previously performed at the fair in 2013, playing a free stage.
Chart-topping songs from Rhett include "Crash and Burn," "It Goes Like This," "Make Me Wanna" and "Star of the Show." Son of Nashville songwriter Rhett Atkins, Thomas Rhett released his third studio album "Life Changes" last September.
He joins an Iowa State Fair Grandstand lineup featuring country favorites Reba McEntire, Old Dominion, Sugarland and Florida Georgia Line. The fair returns Aug. 9-19 to Des Moines.
The show announcements come as the Grandstand undergoes a multimillion-dollar renovation that includes constructing a new stage and adding roughly 4,000 seats just north of the long-standing structure.
