“American Idol” winner Maddie Poppe returns Sunday to Iowa’s capital city.
The Clarksville native plans to play a few songs and answer fan questions at the Girls World Expo, which happens noon to 4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Des Moines airport conference center (6111 Fleur Drive).
Girls World Expo, “a day-long event created by local teen girls for local teen girls,” features panel discussions, seminars and entertainment. Discussions include “Staying Positive in a Negative World,” “Girls Mean Business: Success in More Than Just Wishing” and “Life Hacks of A Teen Girl.”
Expo registration is free and open to the public; attendees are encouraged to register online in advance of the event.
The 20-year-old “Going Going Gone” singer took home top prize earlier this year in the reality television competition. Sunday’s planned appearance comes following Poppe headlining the summer-long “American Idol! Live” tour, which wrapped last week in Washington, D.C.
