A free dose of pop stardom heads to the Hawkeye state next month.

Acclaimed "Praying" and "Woman" pop star Kesha plans to headline a free concert Nov. 2 at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, a Friday night. U.S. Cellular is throwing the concert in celebration of three decades of offering service in the eastern Iowa city.

Free tickets are required for concert entry. Here's how tickets work:

  • Concert-goers must score tickets in-person. You must be age 16 or older to receive a ticket and distribution is limited to two per person.
  • Cedar Rapids radio Z102.9 station and the U.S. Cellular Center Facebook page plan to sporadically release tickets at the arena box office. Fans will be given an hour's notice online and on-air when promoters release a new batch of tickets.
  • Additional tickets plan to be distributed to U.S. Cellular stores in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and surrounding communities. A total 2,500 tickets spread between seven area stores can be picked up Oct. 13 at 10 a.m.
  • You do not need to be a U.S. Cellular customer to snag a free ticket from the arena box office or U.S. Cellular store.

Kesha returns to Iowa following a headlining performance last July at 80/35 Music Festival in Des Moines. The "TiK ToK" and "Die Young" performer tours in support of her 2017 album, “Rainbow,” a critical and commercial comeback for the Tennessee-raised star.

"Rainbow" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album sales charts and appeared at the top of a number of year-end lists from prominent music publications, including Rolling Stone, NPR and People.
