In her first single since winning "American Idol," Iowa's own Maddie Poppe is movin' on.

Poppe released on Friday "Keep On Movin' On," a two-and-a-half minute folk-pop singalong that reminds listeners "If the sun don't shine you gotta pay no mind — keep on movin' on."

The song comes following Poppe's summer on 47-city "American Idol Live!" tour. The Clarksville native returned in September to her home state, appearing at Luke Bryan's Farm Tour stop in Boone and playing a pair of sold out shows in Clinton and Jefferson.

Discussing the track, Poppe told Billboard: “People can interpret that however they want ... whether that’s moving on from a relationship or moving on to the next step in life. It sounds a lot different than everything else right now, and I think that’s why I picked it; It’s unique.”

The 20-year-old singer plans perform the song Friday on ABC's  "Live! With Kelly & Ryan."

More on Maddie Poppe:

A trio of country and pop songwriters penned Poppe's latest: Jarrad Kritzstein, known for working with Kate Nash and Weezer; Brandon Lowry, an album of Brittney Spears and Elle King; and Hillary Lindsey, a Grammy Award-winning Carrie Underwood collaborator.

It's Poppe's second original Hollywood Records single, following "Going Going Gone," which debuted on "Idol" in May.

A music video for "Keep On Movin' On" plans to be released Nov. 2. Stream the song via YouTube below.
