“American Idol” winner and Iowa native Maddie Poppe plays musical narrator in the music video for her latest single, “Keep On Movin’ On.”

Released Friday, the video takes viewers on a single-shot journey of life after a relationship ends. Poppe steps in and out of frame, playing her acoustic guitar while reminding each character that “if the song don’t shine, you gotta pay no mind — keep on movin’ on.” Watch the video below.

The Clarksville native released “Keep On Movin’ On” last week, her first single since winning “American Idol” in May. The song follows “Going Going Gone,” which Poppe debuted during the "Idol” finale.

The song comes following Poppe's summer on the 47-city "American Idol Live!" tour. The Clarksville native returned in September to her home state, appearing at Luke Bryan's Farm Tour stop in Boone and playing a pair of sold out shows in Clinton and Jefferson.

More on Maddie Poppe:

A trio of country and pop songwriters penned Poppe's latest: Jarrad Kritzstein, known for working with Kate Nash and Weezer; Brandon Lowry, an album of Brittney Spears and Elle King; and Hillary Lindsey, a Grammy Award-winning Carrie Underwood collaborator.

Poppe debuted the song last week on national television, appearing on “Live! With Kelly & Ryan."
