A taste of the Windy City is headed to Iowa. A rock favorite in the 1970s and 1980, Chicago returns to Des Moines in 2019.

The "Saturday in the Park" and "Make Me Smile" group plays May 22, 2019, at the Des Moines Civic Center. Tickets go on sale Friday at 9 a.m. via dmpa.org, the Civic Center box office (221 Walnut St.) or by phone at 515-246-2300.

Chicago last played central Iowa in 2016, a show at Stephens Auditorium in Ames. A news release said the band's touring lineup includes four original members: Robert Lamm on keyboards, vocals; Lee Loughnane on trumpet and vocals; James Pankow on trombone; and Walt Parazaider on woodwinds.

The classic and soft rock staple band (with horns!) penned hits such as "Hard To Say I'm Sorry," "You're The Inspiration," "Colour My World," "25 or 6 to 4" and "Feelin' Stronger Every Day."

"Chicago is the first American rock band to chart Top 40 albums in six decades," a news release said. "The band is now in their 50th consecutive year of touring without missing a single concert date."
