Concert organizers announced Tuesday ticket information and opening acts for one of next year's most anticipated country concerts.
Tickets to see "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" star Kenny Chesney on May 16, 2019, at Wells Fargo Arena go on sale Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. online at Hy-VeeTix.com, by phone at 844-55-HYVEE, or in person at the Wells Fargo Arena box office (233 Center St.) and participating metro Hy-Vee locations.
Tickets cost $49, $89 or $129 before fees.
"Dust On The Bottle" country singer and regular Chesney collaborator David Lee Murphy plays main support on the show; "Bare Feet" troubadour Caroline Jones opens. Murphy's known for 1990s country staples, including "Party Crowd" and "Out With A Bang." Jones played the arena in May, opening for Jimmy Buffett.
Chesney plays Des Moines following the biggest tour of his career — a 42-show stadium run that earned just shy of $115 million, Billboard reported. The tour brought Chesney's career tour earnings to an estimated $969 million, having performed for roughly 15.3 million ticket buyers.
One of country music's biggest stars of the last 20 years, Chesney has scored 30 No. 1 Billboard Country Airplay hits, including "How Forever Feels," "Anything But Mine," "Reality," "When The Sun Goes Down" and "There Goes My Life."
Chesney last played the arena in 2015 as part of the "Big Revival" tour. He joins a 2019 Wells Fargo Arena lineup that includes Blake Shelton (March 14), Ozzy Osbourne (June 30), Kiss (Sept. 3) and Thomas Rhett (Sept. 6). Find more information at iowaeventscenter.com.
