A night of 1990s nostalgia invades Des Moines' east side next summer.
Beloved "Hold My Hand" group Hootie & The Blowfish brings the "Group Therapy" reunion tour Aug. 18, 2019, to the Iowa State Fair Grandstand, a Sunday night. The show comes as part of the band's first summer tour in a decade.
"One Week" favorite Barenaked Ladies opens the show, a news release said.
Tickets cost $55, $65 or $72 before fees and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. via iowastatefair.org.
It'll be the first headlining Grandstand show for Hootie & The Blowfish; group frontman Darius Rucker played the venue solo in 2010.

An acoustic rock four-piece, Hootie & The Blowfish earned major radio and touring success in the 1990s and 2000s with staple tracks such as "Let Her Cry," "Only Wanna Be With You," "Time" and "Old Man & Me." The group won two Grammy Awards in 1996 behind the success of "Cracked Rear View," one of the best-selling albums of the 1990s.
The South Carolina group announced a hiatus in 2007, reuniting annually for charity performances. Hootie & The Blowfish last released a studio album, "Looking for Lucky," in 2005, but plan to debut new material next year.
The 44-city tour stops in Iowa twice, with the group scheduled to appear July 19, 2019 at the Great Jones County Fair in Monticello.
